An illustration I did last week for class– the assignment was to eavesdrop on bits of conversation, and then interpret it in an illustration. Fun stuff to start the year off with. :)

Day & Night
Fall 2012, digital

These two pieces were originally done back in the fall as posters for the Montreal-based band Folly and the Hunter (you should definitely check them out!). They ended up using them as art for their new album Tragic Care, which came out this spring! Pretty cool, no?

A short film I did for class– first time working in After Effects. I really enjoyed it (although I had a time rendering…grrrr…); you can do so much in that program! There are a few problems with the camera movement, but not bad as first-tries go, right?

This is based on the fairytale “The Buried Moon”, in which the moon is trapped in a spooky swamp.

katherinemakes:

Here’s a little animation that I did as part of a class assignment. Man, so much respect for actual animators– this little girl required some serious brain power. She’s supposed to be the moon, personified.

Happy thursday!

I made muffins tonight!

Additionally, please watch this for hilarity. Also: those videos are pretty much my childhood in a nutshell. :D
I used this recipe, but replaced the oil with melted butter. Not bad!

Apologies for the belated post! Here’s a wine label I’m currently working on for class.

Milton Glaser on “Fear of Failure”

really relevant and spot on– I just had a discussion with one of my profs today that touched on this.

Oliver Jeffers on his process

A lovely little video about the artist who made the covers for the Apollo Run album and EPs. Worth watching just for the adorable way it’s made. (via Glass’s Stellar favorites, oddly)

Great video. I love Jeffers’s stuff. I bought Stuck for Owen before he was born. (Here’s Jeffers reading it.)

If you haven’t read one of his books, go do it!

awwwww yeaaaahhlook charlit, it’s you!
